How To Root Kindle Fire HD 7 After Software Update 7.2.2 And 7.2.3

A new update has been rolled out for Kindle Fire HD 7 and as always, users who update to the new software version will loose root access for their devices. This update is automatically applied by Amazon via OTA. If you are planning to update your Kindle Fire for software enhancements or  have already lost your root access after updating to Kindle HD 7 software update version 7.2.3 or require rooting a device from update version 7.2.2, then here is a guide to get back your root access.

Requirements

1. Download the ADB Drivers and QemuRoot method files
2. Download Binary v17 Method
3. Download the latest version of Java

Note: It is recommended to uninstall all drivers and to perform a factory reset on your device.

Instructions

  1. To get started, install  ADB drivers and extract the Qemu Root and Binaryv17 files.
  2. Now, open Command Prompt and execute runme.bat file from binaryv17. Make sure that you run Command Prompt with Administrative privileges.
  3. Now, select Method 1 and your Kindle Fire HD 7 device should provide a pop-up requesting a restore.
  4. Tap Restore and your device will re-reboot. Don’t be alarmed if your device appears slow.
  5. After Binaryv17 is done, run qemuroot.bat from Qemuroot method.
  6. In the next step, select option 1 to root your device.
  7. The executable will go through various steps to root your device.
