Maximum Boot Partition – Disable (4GB Maximum), Enable (8GB Maximum)

Question : Maximum Boot Partition – Disable (4GB Maximum), Enable (8GB Maximum)

I’m setting up a RAID array in my new HP ProLiant ML 350 G5 server and have a choice of options that I’m not sure about:

Maximum Boot Partition
Disable (4GB Maximum)
Enable (8GB Maximum)

Under what circumstances should I choose one over the other?

Thanks!

Solution : Maximum Boot Partition – Disable (4GB Maximum), Enable (8GB Maximum)

Maxboot is for OSs that are limited to having the boot files within the first 1024 cylinders, e.g as mentioned above NT4 which isn’t supported on that server anyway. Even LILO now supports more than 1024 cylinder boot so it doesn’t matter which setting you use AFAIK.
