Quickly Find Browser Bookmarks In Ubuntu With Unity Bookmarks Lens

Unity Launcher lens provide an easy mechanism for finding items from online and offline source in Ubuntu Linux. I have covered many Unity Launcher lens for Google Books, Ask Ubuntu, Gwibber, and a quick file searching lens known as Unity Place File Search.  Recently, I found another handy lens known as Unity Bookmarks Lens. As the name suggests, it is bookmark lens for Unity, which simplifies the process of searching for browser bookmarks from the Unity Launcher Dash. Currently, it only supports Firefox and works with the latest Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot.

To install Unity Lens, enter the following commands in the Terminal:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:nilarimogard/webupd8
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install bookmarks-lens

After installation, enter this command to view the lens. If the lens does not appear, restart your computer.

setsid unity

Once installed, an extra option will appear with existing Unity lens. Click on this lens and enter the bookmarked website title to search it from Firefox bookmark list.
