How To Connect Gmail Account With Microsoft Outlook 2013 And 2010

Connecting your Gmail account to Microsoft Outlook can have a number of advantages including easier management and integration of your emails and associated Google services. While connecting a email account is pretty simple, people can often get confused due to lack of knowledge of Pop3 and IMAP. In this post I will show you an easy way of connecting your Gmail account to MS Outlook 2013. The same method can be used to connect your Gmail account with Outlook 2010.

Instructions For Connecting Gmail To MS Outlook 2013

Step 1: Login to your Gmail account, click on the Cog icon and select Settings.

Step 2: Go to the Forwarding and Pop/IMAP tab and enable IMAP. Once IMAP is enabled, click Save Settings from the bottom of the page.

Step 3: Launch Microsoft Outlook 2013 or 2010 and hit Next.

Step 4: By default the Yes option will be selected, click Next to continue.

Step 5: Now, enter your name, email address, Password and click Next. While you can also use the “Manual” option, simply entering your information and hitting next is easier and less complicated.

Step 6: This will connect your Gmail account to Microsoft Outlook.

Enjoy Gmail on MS Outlook 2013. The settings for version 2010 are more or less the same however there might be a slight variation in the initial steps. Nonetheless, all you have to do is to enable IMAP, enter your email credentials and login.
