Earlier I covered a guide on how to gain S-Off on HTC Sensation 4G using Revolutionary. That tool is also suppose to install ClockworkMod recovery, however, some users have reported that the recovery does not get installed in some cases. There is also a manual method in place to ensure that you can still customize your phone. XDA-Developers forum member “ikhzter” has produced a handy guide to provide us with ClockworkMod recovery 4 image in a flashable zip file to install on HTC Sensation 4G.
Those of you who might be wondering what ClockworkMod recovery can do, custom recoveries allow you to flash unsigned files based on ZIP packages and flash custom ROMs with ease. You can backup your entire ROM, as a complete image, so that you can revert back to it if something goes wrong due to the installation of a new ROM, or after installing a mod that messes up your device.
Instructions To Install ClockworkMod Recovery 4 On HTC Sensation 4G

- ClockworkMod 4.0.1.4. (Mirror)
Instructions:
Step 1: To get started, download the recovery from the link given above and copy it to the root directory of the SD card.
Step 2: Reboot your device into the boot-loader mode.
Step 3: From the boot-loader the phone will automatically detect the new file and prompt you to start the update. Press the Volume up key to proceed further.
Step 4: Once the file is flashed, reboot your device.
Step 5: After your device is booted, remove the file from the SD card or simply rename it to something else, (otherwise each time you try to go into the boot-loader, the phone will ask you to install that file).
Step 6: You should now have ClockworkMod recovery installed on your HTC Sensation 4G device. For updates and queries, visit the XDA-Developers forum.
