Forecaster Displays Weather Updates From Multiple Cities Simultaneously

Recently I covered WinThunder, which has now inspired another application which has better weather forecast display options than the former.

Forecaster is a portable application which displays the current information and a four day weather forecast from multiple cities simultaneously. The forecast can be viewed by clicking on the system tray icon, which changes its icon according to current weather conditions. For example, it turns into a cloud when the weather is cloudy and displays a sun icon for sunny weather. You can add unlimited number of cities to monitor weather updates from.

You can set a default city for receiving forecasts by clicking on Change Weather Settings option from the system tray.

From there, you can click on Change Location and set a default location for receiving updates. The update frequency can be set from the drop down menu according to given update options (for example, every minute, 5 mins, 1 hour, etc). To make sure that you get regular updates for changing weather conditions, check the “Notify me when current conditions change “.

You can add multiple cities to monitor weather from, by going to the Additional Forecasts tab. Click Add and enter a city name to start getting updates from the selected city. There is no limit to the number of cities that you can add for getting weather updates.

Click on the buttons below the current forecast to switch between updates from other cities. The current city button automatically turns blue.

Forecaster was tested on Windows 7. The developer has not specified if it will work on Windows XP or Windows Vista, but I see no reason why it shouldn’t.
