Nslookup is a command-line tool is used for querying the Domain Name System (DNS) to obtain domain name or IP address mapping, or a specific DNS record. DNSDataView is a portable GUI (Graphical User Interface) based alternative for the Nslookup command line. This application also allows you to retrieve DNS records (MX, NS, A, SOA) of specified domains

To begin, enter the host name that you wish to perform the Nslookup for and select the record types that you wish to obtain. Optionally, you can also specify a DNS server (either your ISP’s default or any other DNS Server).

DNSDataView will display the result for the query with the record type, host name, IP address and additional data. Any error that may occur during the query execution is also displayed in the More Data section. The result can also be saved from the files drop-down menu in TXT/XML/HTML/CSV format.

Data can also be viewed in a summarized form via the File drop-down menu in the Properties section.
