ComicDaily is a Java-based application for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux which provides daily comics from various online sources. It contains a list of comics which can be viewed on a daily basis including newspaper comic strips such as Hagar the Horrible, Peanuts, Calvin and Hobes, and many others. Unlike previously reviewed Jomics and QManga, ComicDaily is not a CBR or CBZ (comic format) reader. Instead, it provides newspaper comics on a daily basis from many online sources. It also has a built-in calendar to view selected comics (for example, Hagar the Horrible) from previous dates.
Since ComicsDaily is a portable software, you can run the simple Java based JNLP file to start it. Select a comic name from the drop down list and click Refresh button to view the daily comic. ComicsDaily supports viewing many famous comic strips such as:
- Friendly
- Freefall
- Calvin and Hobes
- Peanuts
- Natural Selection
- Hagar the Horrible
- Dilbert, Beetle Bailey
- The Better Half
- Newslettercartoons and others.
To select a comic edition from a back date, select the comic name, click on the calendar icon and then select a date.
