The new Year has dawned and 2012 has arrived with new hopes and aspirations. While the streets and cities are decorated with the new year splendor, it is only fair that you also dress up your Windows 7 desktop with the holiday season glitter, with the New Year 2012 Skin Pack. This brilliant transformation pack has been designed by the same developer (Hamed), who previously brought us the Mac OS X Lion Skin Pack, iOS Skin Pack, Mango Skin Pack, Zune Skin Pack, Android Skin Pack, Gnome Skin Pack and Windows 8 Skin Pack. Since this transformation pack has come shortly after Christmas, therefore, it has many UI elements of the Christmas Skin Pack as well. This transformation pack does not require any complex theme patching and like all theme packs by Hamed, it can be installed by following a simple setup wizard after launching the skin pack (setup) file.
Note: Please bear in mind that such transformation packs can be difficult to uninstall and may not be undone by using system restore. Before installing the New Year Skin Pack, make sure that you have created a complete system backup of your computer. Also ensure that UAC (User Account Control) is disabled. Instructions:
Step 1: Launch the New Year Skin Pack setup file and click Next.
Step 2: Accept the terms and conditions to proceed further.
Step 3: Select quick installation or click custom to remove some options. For example, you can avoid setting the Skin Pack page as your default browser home page and skip installation of a toolbar. Some of these features such as the installation of a toolbar may seem annoying to users, but it contributes to the developer’s revenue, who is providing you with a free skin pack. In any case, you can opt out of the installation of a toolbar or changing your browser settings by unchecking the respective options from Custom Install.
Step 4: Select installation features, such as the UXTheme Patch, files and other extra items (if not selected by default) and click Next.
Step 5: Click Install to start the installation of the New Year 2102 Skin Pack.
Step 6: Reboot your computer for the changes to take effect.
The below screenshots demonstrate how this skin pack will look after installation. If the wallpapers do not appear after reboot, select a 2012 wallpaper from Personalize.
