Install Windows 8 Without DVD or USB Media [Tip]

Recently, a great tip was posted on TechSpyre, which provides a procedure for installing Windows 8 without any bootable media such as a DVD or USB. This means that you can install the latest  Windows 8 without having to use a DVD, USB or other bootable media device.

Step 1: You will first require the Microsoft Windows 8 ISO image file, which you can download from the download links given here. Then mount the ISO image to a disk mounting tool such as Deamon Tools Lite, Power ISO, MagicDisc and the like. See the below image to find out how to mount the image. To get started choose Mount option from your disc mounting program and select the image to mount.

Mount

In this case, it will be the Windows 8 image that you will have to mount.

Select Image

Note: Do not use the autorun installer. The autorun installer is mean to upgrade your existing Windows installation and will not allow you to install to a separate hard drive or partition.

Step 2: Go to the virtual install disc and the folder called “sources”.

Step 3: Run setup.exe and proceed as if installing Windows Vista or Windows 7.

Enjoy your Windows 8 operating system with the stylish Metro interface.
