Step 1: To get started, download the latest MIUI version for your Kindle Fire device (for Android 4.0.3 ICS) from here

Step 2: Please bear in mind that the .zip file will have to be directly transferred under /sdcard on the Kindle Fire tablet. This can be done either after downloading Ice Cream Sandwich to it, or via a file explorer.

Step 3: After the transfer completes, turn off your Kindle Fire tablet.

Step 4: Now, Boot into custom recovery. You can use ClockworkMod Recovery and TWRP Recovery.

Step 5: Create a NANDROID backup. This can be useful if you encounter issues with MIUI and wish to revert the changes. See the link given in section “2” of the requirements given above. If you have no idea about a Nandroid backup, check out this link: What is a Nandroid Backup?

Step 6: Perform a complete wipe and factory reset from the custom recovery.

Note: This is the part where your data gets wiped out. So make sure that you have a backup.

Step 7: Just flash the ROM that was transferred to your Kindle device  in the first step. in ClockworkMod this can be done from install zip from SD Card -> choose zip from SD Card –> (this is the ZIP file from the first step).

Step 8: Now weare nearly done. You will have to wipe the cache and Dalvik cache and restart your Kindle Fire device. Enjoy the new ICS ROM!
