Reggie Fils-Aimé, formerly president of Nintendo of America, is well-liked by those in the video game industry because he gained a reputation for being approachable and humorous during his time in the position. His Twitter account is frequently used to make jokes and comment on the gaming industry, but his most recent tweet about a Tears of the Kingdom leak is raising eyebrows.

Nintendo has been working hard to stop Zelda leaks from spreading across the Internet in recent days, and Twitter user iamahumanandiamagamer added their own earlier today. In their tweet, they show a screenshot of Tears of the Kingdom loaded onto their Switch, with the ‘Playing’ icon clearly visible underneath. It was at this point that Fils-Aimé decided to make fun of it. Instead of merely remarking on the leak and wondering how this person might have obtained the title so quickly, he decides to quote Liam Neeson’s famous phone speech from the movie Taken, though he doesn’t actually threaten to kill them.

After being shaken up by the very strange quote tweet from a former president of one of the world’s biggest game companies, the user deletes their account, but not before Fils-Aimé proudly uploads a screenshot of the exchange to immortalize the moment.

Since Fils-Aimé is no longer employed by Nintendo, he cannot compel the company to take legal action against the individual; rather, this is likely a facetious nod to the current spate of leaks. However, the joke seems a little tone deaf in light of recent events, such as Nintendo’s decision to saddle released hacker Gary Bowser with debt for the rest of his life and Wizards of the Coast’s decision to send the Pinkertons to retrieve Magic: The Gathering cards that were accidentally sold early.

As a result, those anticipating The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom should avoid the leaks at all costs. Sharing the leaks, or even proving one has access to them, is clearly not a good idea.
