Octopath Traveler 2 Guide – How to complete the ‘The Washed-Up Letter’ side story
This is a sidequest that begins on Lighthouse Island, an island just north of New Delsta Harbor: Anchorage. Actually completing it is very simple once you know where it is.
When you arrive at Lighthouse Island, speak with the Lighthouse Keeper’s Wife. She’ll say she found a message in a bottle. It says “For Ruby in Timberain” on it. If you haven’t been there yet, that is a town on the continent on the west side of the map.
When you arrive in Timberain, head to the northeast part of the first half of town. You’ll see a courthouse and an elderly lady to your left. Before engaging in any ordinary conversation with her, I examined her with Osvald. Doing so notes her name and mentions her son’s tragic story.
As stated in “The Washed-Up Letter,” she is the person to whom it is addressed, and speaking to her once you have the item allows you to complete this side story. You’ll receive a Jade Dagger and 6,600 leaves as a reward for your efforts.
