Here’s when we think Season 4 of Overwatch 2 will come out, along with details on new heroes, maps, Battle Pass and more.
Overwatch 2 Season 4 – Release date & start time
Overwatch 2 is scheduled to be released on April 11, 2023. The release date depends on where you live
Furthermore, if we follow this logic, we can expect Overwatch 2 Season 4 to begin at 5 p.m. UTC. But, for the time being, this is just a prediction, and fans will have to wait for official word from Blizzard.
Overwatch 2 Season 4 – New map
Fans can also anticipate changes to the current map pool, as Blizzard stated, “There will now be map pools in Overwatch 2. What this means is that only certain maps will now appear when playing online. This is to make sure that the games for Overwatch 2 feel varied instead of an abundance of one game mode.”
Overwatch 2 Season 4 – Battle Pass
Season 4 will also feature a new Battle Pass. While the specifics of the rewards are unknown, it is likely that it will follow a format similar to the game’s first Battle Pass, with a free track and a premium track with additional rewards.
Overwatch 2 Season 4 – New heroes
In a blog post, Blizzard said: “New heroes will typically come out every alternate season, except for Season One and Two, which will each feature a new hero. After that, we are planning a new hero in Season Four and Season Six.”
With this in mind, fans have speculated on who the next hero could be. Several possible candidates have been suggested, including:
- D.Mon – Real name Yuna Lee. A member of the MEKA Squad alongside D.Va
- Mauga – a former friend of Baptiste seen in the ‘What We Left Behind’ Short
- Maximilien – The wealthy Omnic who launders money for Talon
- Overlord – Real name Seung-hwa Shi. Another member of MEKA Squad alongside D.Va
- Zephyrus – A gladiator seen in multiple posters and images around the Overwatch 2 map Colosseo
During a Twitch stream, Neuss dropped a hint that the next Overwatch hero might be human by saying, “cute like Mercy.” This may rule out several potential candidates from the canon of Overwatch, such as Mauga, and hint at the next character being humanoid in some way. He also hinted at the hero’s special abilities, calling them “completely unique” and “really interesting to watch unfold in high-level games.”
Get ready for TWO new "cute" support heroes in #Overwatch2 🥺🏥
Jared Neuss said he'd "feel good saying Mercy cute" instead of cute like a dog for the next hero. With just one month until our first new support, we should start seeing teasers soon! 👀
