The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom: release date
The release date for The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom is set for May 12, 2023 on Nintendo Switch.
Gameplay
Since the game was revealed in 2019, Nintendo has called The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom a “The Sequel to Breath of the Wild.” The company wanted to keep the game’s name so as not to spoil its premise because the name is directly related to the new mechanics and setting.
On its press page, Nintendo implied that the new title could go beyond Hyrule:
“Beyond the vast expanses of Hyrule, the latest entry in the multi-tiered Legend of Zelda series takes you to the skies and a world that extends beyond that!”
In the latest gameplay trailer, we’ll see a ton of new mechanics, including a giant bird that Link lands and glides to the ground.
We also see that you’ll be able to quickly move between the lower and higher levels of Hyrule using a new power-up, reminiscent of an elevator.
