I have previously reviewed comic reader such as QManaga (For Windows) and Jomics (which works on Mac OS X) . While desktop comic readers provide a convenient interface for reading comics, they do not provide mobility for your comic book collection. This is because access to the comic book collection is limited by supported platform (e.g. a particular operating system such as Mac or Windows) of the comic reader and offline availability. It would be much more convenient if one can access one’s comic book collection from anywhere using the internet.
All Comics is a free web service which allows you to upload, save and read your comics online. All you need is to sign up with an All Comics account and upload your comics. These comics can then be accessed from many platforms (which support Java). This way, you can read your favorite comics from a laptop, desktop computer (PC), and hand held devices such as an Android, or other smart phone.
Just login with your All Comics account and select Upload A Comic option to start uploading your comic book collection to save it.
Now, select a comic format file (supported formats include CBR, CBZ, Zip and RAR files) to start the uploading process.
You will receive a confirmation message when a file has been successfully uploaded to your All Comics account. Once a file has been uploaded, you can either upload another comic file (using Upload Another Comic button)or proceed to read your uploaded comic (by using Done Next Step Please) option.
The “All Comics” online comic book reader is quite flexible and provides the option to easily sift through comic strip pages from page navigation buttons located on the on top and the sidebar which displays all of the comic book pages. You can also adjust the zoom level of the comic page to suit your needs.
All uploaded comics are stored online and can be accessed by logging into your All Comics account from the All Comics website.
All Comics is an endeavor by a team of third-party developers who are not associated with the comic book industry. Their aim is to provide an effective comic book reading application which can help users read comic using the cloud (internet). The good thing about All Comics is that it not just supports comic book format files such as CBZ, CBR but also detects comic from compressed ZIP and RAR archives.
