Ubuntu One is a Dropbox type cloud storage service with Ubuntu, Android and iPhone applications. Magicicada is a GUI front end for Ubuntu One to help you manage and view the file synchronization of your Ubuntu One account. Unlike the default Ubuntu One GUI, it displays a more detailed interface which shows synchronization stats in real time for Ubuntu One files. Moreover, users can also view information about their shared files and folders, as well as meta data information. Magicicada provides Ubuntu users with in-depth information about their shared data instead of having them to visit the Ubuntu One website to login and view file sharing stats.
Once Magicicada is installed, login with your Ubuntu One account and click Connect. This will allow you to view stats for files which in queue and the ones which have been uploaded.
You can also view information about folders which might have been shared with you or by you, metadata information, public files and Ubuntu One folders (from the buttons on the top toolbar).
You can install Magicicada from the Launchpad package (link given below) or by entering the following Terminal command:
sudo apt-get install magicicada
