Track Time Spent On Tasks With Hamster Indicator [Ubuntu Linux]

Hamster Indicator is a time tracking application for Ubuntu Linux which works from the app-indicator menu. It allows you to quickly enter tasks and set the timer to track time spent on each task. You can also calculate time spent on tasks which cannot be tracked in real time to get an aggregated summary of time spent on each task throughout the week or over a period of time.

You can install Hamster Indicator by entering the following commands in the Terminal:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:albertomilone/hamster-indicator
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install hamster-indicator

To launch it from the system tray, hit ALT+F2 hotkey and enter the following command:

hamster-indicator

The system tray menu can be used to not add new tasks, access preferences and to edit previously added tasks.

Using the Show Overview option from the system tray, you can view and edit added tasks and get an overview of the time spent on numerous tasks over a period of time (Total tab).
