Problem: Excel ecncountered errors during save

 a user has just finished working on an excel 2007 file, which she got from a network drive. Whenever she tries saving the edited file, there’s an error message saying “Excel encountered errors during save. However, excel was able to minimally save your file to c:…file path…filename.xlsb.” How can I resolve this? The user has Office 2007.

I read somewhere that some anti virus softwares don’t yet recognise the new xl07 file formats and may cause this error.  Also, according to MSKB anti virus software can also interrupt the save process.

Are you able to add new ‘safe’ file type extensions to your anti virus?
