PowerPoint 2007 Edit Links to Files buttons are greyed-out

Question : PowerPoint 2007 Edit Links to Files buttons are greyed-out

I am attempting to edit the path to a linked movie file using the Office button > Prepare > Edit links to files. The dialog box pops up and shows me the links in my presentation. Unfortunately the Update Now, Change Source, and Break Link buttons are all greyed out.

I’ve tried this on a few different presentations, even creating a new one and linking a movie file but the buttons remain greyed-out.

The files are all located on a network share in a Windows Domain. Host is running Windows 7 Pro.

I’ve scoured the web for a solution and haven’t found anything pertaining to greyed-out buttons. Any ideas how to fix? Thanks.

Those links are for OLE objects, but videos aren’t OLE links, that’s why the buttons aren’t available.

Only thing I know that would fix this is FixLinks. http://www.pptools.com/fixlinks/index.html  There’s a free trial.
