USB Storage Enabler is a handy tool for Windows Phone 7 users which allows them to enable or disable the Windows Phone 7 USB functionality. One of the per-requisites of this app are Zune and a connected device to your PC. You would require closing Zune to enter the USB Storage.
The developer at XDA Developers forum has mentioned that the device requires .NET Framework 2.0, which does make one wonder if the app can be used with operating systems like Windows XP. The developer has tested this app on Vista so it does work on Windows 7 and Windows Vista. You can download this great app from the download link given at the end of this post.
Instructions:
Method 1
1. Start Zune and connect your WP7 device.
2. Click on “Enable” within the USB Storage Enabler Tool.
3. Close Zune (or your folders are empty).
Method 2:
1 Connet your phone to PC.
2 Restart phone still connected to pc (just off and on).
3 Sync with Zune.
4 Enable Usb unlocker tool (your phone should appear listed on “computer” with the storage folder).
5 Close Zune.
6 Disconnect phone and reconnect.
