Root & Install ClockworkMod Recovery For Any Nexus S Model In One Click

XDA-Developers forum  member “Borky_16” has released a handy tool to root and to install ClockworkMod recovery on all Nexus S models. In this post I will show you the procedure of using this awesome tool to root and install ClockworkMod recover on your Nexus S phone.

This single click root tool is designed for all kinds of Nexus S models (including, i9020A, I9020T and I9023) and uses ClockworkMod (recovery), as found with in ROM Manager. The package that comes with this tool contains Windows drivers for both 32bit Windows operating systems.

The script attempts to unlock the boot-loader, so the data and SD card is wiped clean. Hence, using this tool is quite simple as it is an automated script and only requires you to connect Nexus S to your computer. Just make sure that USB debugging is enabled and run the script. See below instructions for more details.

Disclaimer: Follow this guide at your own risk. WML Cloud and associated team members will not be responsible if your device gets damaged or bricked during the below mentioned process.

Requirements:

  1. One Click Root tool with ClockworkMod recovery 4.0.0.2
  2. StickyRecovery Script

Instructions:

Step 1: To get started, download the One Click Root tool and the SitckyRecovery Script from the above links and extract the compressed file package of the tool.
Step 2: Copy StickyRecovery to the same folder where you have extract the One Click Root tool files.
Step 3: Make sure USB Debugging is enabled on your Nexus-s device and connect it to your computer via USB.
Step 4: Run the run.bat file (with administrative privileges) and install the recovery. Wait for the process to complete. Messing around when a tool is in progress can always result in issues to I’ve added waiting as part of step 4 and 5.
Step 5:  Once the progress is complete, run the file stickyrecovery.bat to ensure that the recovery sticks after a reboot. Wait until the device reboots, then your recovery will stick.
