Samsung Galaxy S3 Review And Technical Specifications

Samsung Galaxy S3 is one of the most anticipated Android Smartphone this year. This flagship phone comes packed with a Quad-core  processor, a 4.8 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection and the power of Android v4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich. Samsung Galaxy S3 has an 8 MP camera, a slim design and light casing which adds to its style and appearance.

Design

Samsung has abandoned the rectangular design for its new Galaxy S phone. This seems to be a radical change from the design that the S2 had. Samsung Galaxy S 3 is oval shaped, with smooth round corners. What users might find inconvenient about the new design is the placement of the touch sensitive keys, which are positioned close to the phone’s edges. This may lead to some annoyance for users as they might accidentally activate keys.

Display Screen

The S3 has a Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, with 16M colors, 4.8 inch screen size and a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. The S3 comes with TouchWiz UI v4.0 and Corning Gorilla Glass 2. Overall, the screen seems pretty neat and easy on the eyes. The reason for the fine display is the HD Amoled screen, which was also used with Samsung Note and Nexus devices.

Processor And Performance

Needless to say that Samsung Galaxy S3 is a beast under the hood with its Exynos 4212 Quad Chipset, Quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A9 CPU and Mali-400MP GPU. In other words, it packs enough hardware to take your HD multimedia and gaming experience to the next level. While there might not be a lot of apps in the Google Play store at the moment to make use of Quad-core processors, you can at least be assured of not having to deal with system hangs and problems due to lack of processing power.

Camera

The 8 Megapixel rear camera might not be anything more in resolution than what the S2 offered, however, it does come with some neat features such as zero shutter-lag trait. Furthermore, just like the HTC One X, Galaxy S3 has the ability to capture still images during video recording sessions.

Software And Applications

As we all know, the Galaxy S3 runs Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS, with Samsung’s own TouchWiz interface. Among a few fine software features, the Pop up Play option is quite remarkable, as it enables users to watch videos during tedious and boring tasks. Furthermore, the S Beam feature lets you send heavy files over your Wi-Fi connection.Galaxy S 3
