Question : Optimal Sequence for Rebooting SharePoint Farm
Is there an optimal sequence for rebooting a WSS 2007 medium server farm?
I have two web front ends, and two applicaiton servers – one of which hosts Central Admin.
No one is using this instance becuase it is dev… in prod, I’d quiesce the farm first, but then what is the best sequence for shut-down/start-up? Or does it not matter because a timer-job will re-synch?

it doesn’t really matter what order you reboot.
i’ve done it both ways: WFE reboot, then database backend reboot … and also database backend reboot and then WFE reboot…
i haven’t noticed a difference.
