Microsoft has released the OEM to manufacturing partners. In other words, the next milestone is now available for PCs loaded with the latest operating system (since October 26, 2012). Moreover, Microsoft and its partner companies have also released some fine tablets including the Surface tablet, which is ideal for taking advantage of this touch friendly operating system.

New Features

The new version has come with a number of changes including search support within the apps store, a new Bing app, personalization tattoos for the Metro interface (now known as the Modern UI), new interface for the People app and sadly, the removal of the Aero glass effect. While a workaround to enable the Aero glass Effect in Windows 8 was found, however, it comes with a number of issues, including a messed up Explorer.

System Requirements

Before downloading the final build, it is advised to first check out the System Requirements to determine if your PC or tablet is capable enough to run Win 8. While it might be possible to install Win 8 on some  tablets, however, it might not be compatible with most common tablet PCs. Therefore, it is advised to opt for Win 8 ready tablets like the Microsoft Surface tablet.
