Easypad LAP is an alternative to the default Windows Notepad with a lot of additional features with most prominent being the Ribbon based user interface which offers five separate tabs for handling the document alignment, selecting text color, font style, document security, etc. Users can save your text document in TXT, RTF, XML, XAML, HTML, PHP, JS, Java, CS, ASP and RESX formats. This can be quite helpful for developers to create, edit and save text files in numerous formats that the default notepad does not support. It is a good alternative for developers who require working on the Notepad.
The Home tab displays options to create/open a document, save a document (in the supported formats), alignment management buttons and verbose cut,copy,past, clear text, undo and redo options.
The Font tab contains features to customize the look of your fonts. You can select font size, designs and perform font styling via other options.
A number of text colors are available from the Text Colors tab. These can allow giving a more enhanced look to your text file and highlighting certain areas with distinctive colors. For instance, if you are viewing an error log, you can mark the error name with red color. You can hide any of the available tabs from the Customization tab to hide any unwanted feature for a more simplified look.
The Options tab contains many more font tweaking and some security options. From here, you can make the text file read only when you save to for protecting the data.
You can also print your document and perform other common tasks such as saving the document from the drop down menu on the left hand side of the ribbon.
Note: A downside of this Notepad is that it open fully maximized and you will have to drag it’s edges to adjust size for easy viewing.
