Encrypt, Password Protect And Convert Any Document To PDF With Doro PDF

Previously I reviewed Cute PDF Writer, which allow creating PDF documents from any program that has a printer option. Doro PDF Writer is a similar tool that converts common MS Word, MS Excel, WordPad, Notepad and other documents to PDF format. You can also password protect and encrypt the newly created PDF files. Doro PDF settings are highly customizable and allow managing everything from the document quality to the color of the converted document.

To convert a document to PDF format, select the Printer Dialog from a program such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, WordPad, an image viewer, etc, choose Doro PDF from the printer list and click Print. This will not print the document but rather allow you to perform configurations for creating a “separate” PDF copy of the existing file.

Before clicking on the Print button, you can also go to Printer Properties to choose the document layout, font, page format and paper quality (colored or in  black and white format).

When you click on the Print button, the document is not printed, but rather a new window pops-up, where you can select preferred settings, for creating a PDF document out of the existing file. The General tab allows you to select a title, subject, and keyword.

Whereas, the Encryption tab allows you to encrypt (with 128-bit encryption) and password protect the document. Click on Create to create a separate PDF copy of the current file.
