Open Freely is a free software which can open 100 different kinds of file types including document, picture, audio, video and compressed file types. Once you have installed Open Freely, you will no longer require installing multiple programs like MS Office, a media player, PDF reader, etc as Open Freely can open all kinds of file types. The supported file types include the following:

You can open any kind of supported file by using the Open With dialog or from the Open button located on the top toolbar. Each file type is supported by complimentary options. For example, when you open an image file, additional options for saving, copying, resizing, rotating, printing the image automatically appear. The supported image file types include:
- RAW Images: ARW, CF2, CR2, CRW, DNG, ERF, MEF, MRW, NEF, ORF, PEF, RAF, RAW, SR2, X3F
- Icons: ICO
- Photoshop Documents: PSD
- Pictures: SVG, JPEG, JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP, TIFF, TIF
Similarly, a document file type becomes editable when opened with Open Freely. The supported Document File Types include the following:

You can also open video or audio files with without the need of installing an FLV, MOV, VOB player such as RealPlayer, QuickTime, Power DVD and the like.

It must be noted that Open Freely installs a number of codecs and other required components to work such as .Net Framework 4. Despite the extra components it is still a lightweight application and has a memory usage of approximately 11 MB per window. It supports multiple instances so you can launch numerous instances of Open Freely for opening videos, pictures, compressed files, documents, etc simultaneously.
