Problem : Event Viewer error: DFSR EventID:1202
Hello,
If i open an Event Viewer, under ‘system’ there are lots of errors with DFSR source. Error occures about 4-6 times per day. This is a Windows 2003 R2 system that’s being used as a simple Folder Sharing server that has about 20 computers and no active directory (only workgroup).
Overall, server is working well and this error message can only be viewed from Event Viewer, No errors or symptomps exit otherwise.

The DFS Replication service failed to contact domain controller to access configuration information. Replication is stopped. The service will try again during the next configuration polling cycle, which will occur in 60 minutes. This event can be caused by TCP/IP connectivity, firewall, Active Directory, or DNS issues.

I’m not sure if this error has any impact on the server, but it’s annoying how it’s occuring in the Event Viewer all the time.
Solution : Event Viewer error: DFSR EventID:1202
I think i may have solved this by disabling DFSR service/thing completely…. no more of the same error, but some other intermittent things are happening once in a while, not sure if it’s related.
