When converting or editing PDF documents, most people use PDF writers such as CutePDF and Doro PDF. However, using a PDF writers means that the document first has to be edited using a third-party program such as MS Word, before it can be converted to PDF. Furthermore, this can now be done easily via “Save as” in MS Office 2010. BabyPDF is a PDF editor and viewer that allow opening and editing PDF documents in a comprehensive way. In other words you can edit existing PDF documents, rather than having to create and convert them in other programs.
The “Viewing Mode” of BabyPDF allows options such as adjusting the appearance of the document, whereas the “Editing Mode” enables complete modification of PDF files. You can open a PDF document by dragging a file over to the BabyPDF interface or from the “Open PDF” option.
To edit a document, simple click “Edit PDF” and select appropriate options from the sidebar that pops-up. The editing features of BabyPDF include text editing, the option to change document appearance and more.
Overall, BabyPDF is a good application for editing specific parts of a PDF document, without going to the length of converting PDF files to another format for editing. Nonetheless, the BabayPDF editing options can appear quite complicated to lay users. It would be good to see the developers to make the editing sidebar easier to understand. Perhaps a MS Office style Ribbon interface for editing PDF documents will be of more convenience.
