Make Windows 7 Look Like Windows 8 With Windows 8 Skin Pack

There has been a lot of talk about about the upcoming Windows 8 with leaked screenshots and new feature speculations. In the wake of this hype, Hamed has created a skin pack to emulate the Windows 8 expected features in Windows 7. Like previous skins by Hamed, such as the Mac OS X Lion Skin Pack and Ubuntu Skin Pack for Windows 7, this theme can also be installed by running the simple setup file and following the installation wizard. So give your Windows 7 the Windows 8 look with this extraordinary skin pack.

Note: Please bear in mind that such skin packs are difficult to uninstall and cannot be undone by a mere system restore to revert the changes. Before installing the 8 Skin Pack, make you backup your computer to undo the changes (if desired). Also make sure that UAC (User Account Control) is disabled. For complete un-installation instructions, see my post: How To Uninstall A Windows Transformation Pack Skin.

Just download an unzip the compressed archive and run the setup file. This will start an installation wizard. Hit Next and accept the terms and conditions to proceed.

When installing this transformation pack, you will be presented with the option to install numerous features. You can uncheck some items if you like, (for example, you may not be interested in installing the wallpaper, visual styles, third party software, etc). Click on Install to begin the installation process.

After the installation is complete, you will require rebooting your system for the changes to take effect. Below is an example of how the theme will look like, once its installed.

The developer (Hamed) has upgraded this theme to provide you with the Metro UI of Windows 8.

The 8 Skin Pack is available in separate packages for both Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit editions.
