Black Ops 6 Beta: Start Date, Early Access & How to Secure Your Spot

The wait is almost over for Call of Duty fans. Black Ops 6 is set to drop on October 25th, but you can get a taste of the action early with the upcoming beta. Here’s everything you need to know.

When is the Black Ops 6 Beta?

The Black Ops 6 beta spans two weekends, catering to both early access players and everyone else:

  • Early Access: August 30th – September 4th (pre-order required)
  • Open Beta: September 6th – September 9th (free to play for everyone)

How to Access the Beta

There are two ways to secure your spot in the beta:

  • Pre-order the game: Pre-ordering Black Ops 6 from any retailer grants you early access to the beta. Digital pre-orders are the easiest option, as your account will automatically gain access. Physical pre-orders typically come with a beta code emailed by the retailer.
  • Game Pass subscription: Active subscribers to Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass PC, or Game Pass Console automatically qualify for early access to the beta.

Don’t have a pre-order or Game Pass subscription? No worries! The open beta weekend allows anyone to join for free.

What Platforms Are Supported?

The Black Ops 6 beta welcomes players across all platforms the game will be released on:

  • Xbox Series X/S
  • Xbox One
  • PlayStation 5
  • PlayStation 4
  • PC (Steam, Battle.net, Microsoft Store)

Heads up: Early access is only available for the platform you pre-ordered the game on. For instance, a pre-order for Xbox Series X won’t grant early access on PlayStation 5. However, the open beta allows play on any platform you choose.

Does Beta Progress Carry Over?

Unfortunately, your hard-earned progress in the beta won’t translate to the main game at launch. This aligns with the tradition of previous Call of Duty betas. Treyarch prioritizes a fresh start for all players, which also explains why weapon unlocks from MW3 and Warzone won’t be present in Black Ops 6.

However, there’s a chance you can earn exclusive cosmetic items, like a Calling Card, for participating in the beta, which you can likely use in the full game.

So, lock and load, soldiers! With the Black Ops 6 beta kicking off soon, it’s time to prepare for an explosive taste of the 2024 Call of Duty experience. See you on the battlefield!
