One of the hefty enemy bosses you’ll face in Dead Island 2 is named Dillon. Defeating this boss is no easy feat, so we’ve put together some helpful hints to make your life a little easier.
Dead Island 2 Guide – How to beat Dillon
To engage the enemy, you must first progress through the main story until you reach the mission known as The Giant-Slayer in Dead Island 2. The goals of this mission will involve you eliminating Alex’s former gymmates.
Once you begin this quest, you must proceed through Lenny’s store and towards the parking lot. This will be located in DI 2 on the north side of Venice Beach. Once there, all that remains is to cross the damaged southern fence.
After you jump over it, you’ll see the buff zombie Dillon approaching you. Dillion will be the hulking one with the mohawk, acting like any other crusher zombie, but there is a catch. The wall on the right will collapse as the fight begins, and the oil tanker above will fall in between you and Dillon. It will begin to leak, and the oil will catch fire as a result of the nearby electric wires, resulting in a blaze.
Dillon’s arms in particular will ignite, and he’ll be able to inflict fire damage as well. It goes without saying that getting hit by one of these will completely ruin your day.
Dillon uses his large stature to perform a large Smash Attack with a wide area of impact. This attack also sends out a powerful shockwave that can easily knock you off balance. This will also cause long-term fire damage to you.
Furthermore, the annoying zombie lackeys will constantly attack you. Dillon will resort to double smash near the end of the fight, so keep an eye out for that as well. Make sure to pack health supplies to replenish your health during the boss fight in DI 2.
You can begin the fight by reducing the number of zombies around you before going after Dillon. He may hit hard, but he moves slowly, so you can easily get behind him and use melee attacks to reduce his health.
You can also use the red barrels scattered around the area to kill groups of normal zombies when they surround you. Then you can launch some headshots at Dillon, resulting in critical hits and shortening his life. This is the best way to take him down if you have enough ammo.
Jumping at the precise moment he typically slams the ground is the best way to avoid his crusher attack. Last but not least, you can activate Fury mode to quickly defeat him.
Once you kill the abomination Dillon, the zombies around him will fall as well, and you will be able to collect the rewards from his corpse. The additional zombies will also drop some pretty powerful weapons, so swap out your weapons if they’re nearly broken or on the weaker side!
