After defeating the Witness, Bungie has unveiled plans for the next Destiny 2 chapter in The Final Shape saga: Episode Revenant.

Mark your calendars, Guardians! The next chapter, Revenant, arrives on Tuesday, October 8th, 2024. This confirms the in-game countdown and aligns with the brief showcase Bungie presented after the Witness’ fall in June.
A New Era: Episodes vs Seasons
Destiny 2 is revamping its content delivery system. Episodes offer a longer format compared to seasons, with a deeper connection to the expansion’s narrative. Episodes aim to address the disjointed feeling some players experienced with the seasonal format, especially for those who missed out on parts of the story.
Revenant: Fallen, Vampires, and Potions
Get ready to delve into Fallen lore in Revenant. With Riis lost, the Fallen are without a homeworld. Brace yourselves for dark fantasy themes and a return to slaying mythical creatures – this time, vampires with a Splicer twist. You’ll take on the mantle of the Slayer Baron, a revered monster hunter in Eliksni culture, according to Bungie. Expect a heavy emphasis on the vampire hunter archetype, judging by the imagery revealed so far.
Revenant also introduces a new potion crafting system. Combat potions will enhance your artifact directly, while loot potions grant you more control over the rewards you get. This system is part of Bungie’s plan to offer players more choices throughout year ten of Destiny 2.
We also have the return of Fikrul, who has taken residence in an Awoken watchtower. Bungie hints at heavy horror influences for this particular encounter.
