Genshin Impact: A Look at Furina’s Original Concept Art

Fans of Genshin Impact were abuzz recently with the leak of concept art featuring the Hydro Archon, Lady Furina, also known as Focalors. While the character’s final design in-game leans towards elegance and regality, this early concept offers a glimpse into a different vision for Fontaine’s leader.

Genshin Impact: A Look at Furina’s Original Concept Art

A Twitter account dedicated to Furina, archonfontaine, shared the intriguing concept art, sparking widespread discussion. The leak gained further traction after being reposted by hxg_diluc, a prominent Genshin Impact leaker.

Furin’s original design boasts a more graceful form, intricate clothing details, and a complex staff – a stark contrast to her final sword-wielding design. While both interpretations prominently feature blue and white, the concept art utilizes a brighter color palette.

The staff has fueled speculation among fans, particularly regarding the possibility of future characters wielding staves as primary weapons. Interestingly, the concept art’s color scheme bears a resemblance to Neuvillette, another popular Hydro character from Fontaine.

Interestingly, some fans observed a resemblance between the concept art and a boss fight phase rather than a playable character model. This could suggest that Furina was initially envisioned for a boss fight, similar to Raiden Shogun’s role as a weekly boss in the Grand Narukami Shrine.

While some fans expressed a preference for the concept art, the overall sentiment leans towards the current design better aligning with Genshin Impact’s character design philosophy.

Even if not chosen for Furina, there’s a possibility that HoYoverse might utilize these early design elements for a future character in one of their titles. After all, several Genshin Impact characters, like Raiden Shogun, Yae Miko, Venti, and Alhatham, share design inspiration with characters from the Honkai universe.

For those eager to add Furina to their party, fret not! With a rerun expected in the coming months, the wait to add the Hydro Archon to your team shouldn’t be too long.
