How to Complete the “A Gradient of Dreams and Ochre” Quest in Genshin Impact
Locating the Quest
To embark on the journey of “A Gradient of Dreams and Ochre,” you must have already completed the first act, “A Brush of Seafoam and Crimson.” Once you have accomplished this, the second act will become immediately available.
Quest Walkthrough: A Gradient of Dreams and Ochre
- Talk to Serene: Begin by following the quest marker and speaking to Serene. She will set you on the path to collect three out of four Strange Parts.
- Collect Strange Parts – Part 1:
- Visit Cosanzeana behind the entrance to Merusea Village.
- When presented with the option to choose from different flowers, pick any flower.

- The next time the flower choice appears, select the last option, “(I think that’ll do for now).”
- On the final flower choice, pick any flower from your inventory.
- You will receive one Strange Part.
- Collect Strange Parts – Part 2:
- From the entrance of Merusea Village, head towards the opposite side where the waterfall is located.
- Talk to Iara and place bait in the marked location.
- After placing the bait, defeat the enemy that spawns to obtain one Strange Part.
- Collect Strange Parts – Part 3:
- From the entrance of Merusea Village, speak to Verenata standing next to a fire.
- You’ll be teleported to a beach where you must defeat enemies.
- Talk to Verenata again, defeat the spawning enemies once more, and speak to Verenata again.
- Follow the marker to visit Verenata’s workshop under the sea, where you will receive one more Strange Part.
- Complete the Quest:
- Now that you have all four Strange Parts, go talk to Mamere at her house.
- Follow the marker to reach “A Very Bright Place.”
- Defeat the Rifthounds nearby.
- Follow the marker, glide down to the water body below, and dive to find a trapped Melusine.
- Use the ability of a Fontemer Aberrant to cut the seagrass.

- Continue following the marker until you break a rock, unlocking a shortcut to Merusea Village from “A Very Bright Place.”
- Use the wormhole to travel to “A Lonely Place.”
- Defeat the Rifthounds and use the prism to unlock the crystal.
- Defeat the Rifthounds that spawn to conclude the quest.

Upon completing “A Gradient of Dreams and Ochre,” you will receive the following rewards:
- 60 Primogems
- Mora
- Hero’s Wits
- Mystic Enhancement Ore
