Apex Legends Guide – How to fix the fs_checkasyncrequest engine error on Steam, EA App & Origin
When playing Apex Legends with low model detail and trying to interact with survey beacons, you may encounter the “FS_CheckAsyncRequest” error. The good news is that there are a few options available for fixing this. Here are the fixes for the EA App, Origin, and Steam.
Steam
- Right-click Apex Legends in your library and select Properties.
- Add -eac_launcher_settings SettingsDX12.json to Launch Options.
- Close the Properties window and restart the game.
EA App
- Click the three dots in the upper right corner of the Apex Legends tile in My Collection, then click View Properties.
- In the Advanced Launch Options text box, add -eac_launcher_settings SettingsDX12.json.
- Click Save and then restart the game.
Origin
- Right-click Apex Legends in My Game Library and select Game Properties, and then Advanced Launch Options.
- To the command line, add -eac_launcher_settings SettingsDX12.json
- Click Save and then restart the game.
If none of the above solutions work, try repairing the game files:
- Open Steam, EA App, or Origin, depending on where your game is located.
- Find Apex Legends in your Library.
- If you’re using Steam, right-click Apex Legends and select Properties. Go to Local Files -> Properties -> Select Verify Integrity of Game Files.
- If you’re using Origin or EA App, click the gear icon next to the play button when you select Apex Legends from your Library. A window will appear; select the Repair option there.
Hopefully, one of those solutions can help you solve the error. If the problem persists, you should contact Apex Legends support for further assistance.
