How to get Silver Sword of the Astral Plane in Baldur’s Gate 3

As mentioned above, there are two opportunities for you to obtain this weapon, one in Act 1 and the other in Act 2.

Act 1

In Act 1, you have the chance to acquire the Silver Sword of the Astral Plane by following these steps:

  • Location: Head to the Mountain Pass in Act 1, situated at coordinates (X: -135, Y: 564). You can reach this location by traveling northwest from the Emerald Grove, just north of the Blighted Village.
  • Prepare the Command Spell: Ensure you have access to the Command: Drop spell. Characters like Shadowheart have it immediately, but you can also acquire the spell through scrolls or by leveling up skills. If you don’t have it, you can purchase the scroll from merchants or unlock it if your character is a Warlock, Bard, or Cleric.
  • Approach Kith’rak Voss: Sneak past the Githyanki warriors in the Mountain Pass until you are within range of Kith’rak Voss.
  • Cast Command: Drop: Use the Command: Drop spell on Kith’rak Voss to force him to drop the Silver Sword of the Astral Plane. Note that this spell has a relatively low chance of success, around 12%, so be prepared to reload and retry if necessary. Avoid bringing Lae’zel with you, as her presence may alert the Githyanki warriors.

  • Battle Githyanki: After obtaining the sword, you’ll still need to defeat the remaining Githyanki warriors, who will put up a fight. Position yourself on the bridge for the high ground advantage and try to keep a safe distance to minimize their attacks.
  • Collect Your Reward: Once the battle is won, loot the defeated enemies, including Kith’rak Voss, to claim your legendary weapon, the Silver Sword of the Astral Plane.

Act 3

If you missed your chance to get the Silver Sword of the Astral Plane in Act 1, you can still get it in Act 3. To do this, you will need to:

  • Progress Lae’zel’s Companion Quest: Progress through Lae’zel’s companion quests until you reach “The Githyanki Warrior.”
  • Reach Wyrm’s Crossing: Advance in the game until you reach Wyrm’s Crossing, passing the South Span checkpoint.
  • Meet Raphael: Inside Sharess’ Caress, the upper floor, look for Raphael. Engage in a conversation with him.
  • Accept Raphael’s Deal: Agree to take Raphael’s deal, and you will receive the Orphic Hammer.
  • Kith’rak Voss Encounter: Head to the floor below and encounter Kith’rak Voss, who will be standing near a window. Engage in a brief conversation.
  • Trade the Orphic Hammer: Offer the Orphic Hammer to Kith’rak Voss, and in return, you will receive the Silver Sword of the Astral Plane.

Whether you obtain the Silver Sword of the Astral Plane in Act 1 or Act 3, this legendary weapon will significantly enhance your combat capabilities, especially if you are playing as a Githyanki character. So, arm yourself with this formidable weapon and face the challenges of Baldur’s Gate 3 with confidence!
