Pokemon Go Fest Players Complain of Poor Shiny Rate

June 4, 2022 is the first day of Pokemon Go Fest, a two-day event that provides players with the chance to capture rare Pokemon and encouter the mythical Pokemon Shaymin for the very first time. Pokemon Gofest usually offers players a lot of bonuses to encourage them to go out and play longer. One of the most fascinating aspects of the event was the increased chance of encountering Shiny Pokemon. This is a big attraction for many players in the community.

However, players have complained about a lack of Shiny encounter rate during 2022 Fest.

Pokemon Go Fest Poor Shiny Rate

At this year’s event, Pokemon Go players who purchase tickets will receive a boost shiny fare when using incense in the wild. In past events, players may have caught dozens of Shiny Pokemon, especially if they have been playing all day long. But this year it didn’t happen. During eight hours of Incense use, one player from Denmark confirmed that they only saw one Shiny. In previous events, the number was 24.

This issue could be caused by Niantic’s decision not to reveal shiny encounter rates during “boosted” events, possibly to avoid discouraging players from purchasing tickets. When it comes to Pokemon Go Fest, it’s all about having fun. Developers at Niantic may believe that raising the Shiny rate will deter people from attending the event. I’m not sure if I’ve seen Shiny less frequently than usual, but there appear to be more complaints than ever before.

Sunday is the last day of Pokemon Go Fest. I’m hoping Niantic will pay attention to the players’ complaints.
