Problem : The advanced page cannot be opened because of following error: The server is not operational
I have 2 servers, both 2K3 enterprise edition. 1 is a terminal server, the other is a domain controller. On the terminal server, when I try to share a folder and set permissions, I select the domain location, then click advance and receive the error message:
The advanced page cannot be opened because of following error: The server is not operational
I can go to local users & groups and access active directory just fine. Just not when trying to set folder permissions.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem, what i did to resolve was that i had forgotten to put the ip address of my dns server which is my domain controller in the the option use the following DNS ADDRESS in the TCIP options
