One Reddit user shared a couple of screenshots of Kieran with hints of a strange purple smoke around his hands. This same purple smoke is seen coming out of the Loyal Three shrine when Kieran punches it, and it’s also visible in the official art for the Indigo Disk DLC.

Another user pointed out that when Kieran is defeated at the third sign, he clenches his fist and there is a weird distortion effect around his hand.
These observations have led some fans to believe that Kieran may be under the control of the peach Pokémon. They theorize that he may have encountered it after he started getting lied to and was sent to the shrine to resurrect the Loyal Three.
