The Finals closed beta – Start date & How to sign up

The Finals beta start date

After some time in Alpha, The Finals is now ready to enter beta, and we’ve got the start date and sign-up guide for you.

The Finals closed beta start date

The Finals closed beta begins on Tuesday, March 7th, 2023. It will last two weeks, ending on Tuesday, March 21, 2023. While no specific start time has been announced, we anticipate that the beta will begin around 6pm UK time, but keep an eye on the game’s official Twitter account in case they go live early.

Two maps will be included in the closed beta, including “the skyscrapers high above the heart of downtown Seoul and old-town Monaco, on the banks of the French Riviera.” It will also include a practice range for players to get a feel for the guns and try out the destruction.

How to enroll in The Finals closed beta

The best way to get into The Finals’ closed beta is to sign up through the game’s Steam page.

Log in to Steam, scroll down to ‘Join the Finals Playtest,’ and then click the ‘Request Access’ button. Then, just keep an eye on your emails or Steam client for notifications when the developer opens up the beta to more people.

The Finals’ development team includes some seasoned FPS developers. Embark was founded in 2018 by ex-DICE employees who worked on both the Battlefield and Battlefront games, including Patrick Soderlund.

The team is also working on Arc Raiders, which was supposed to be released before this project until August of last year. This is still in the works and is scheduled for later in 2023.

About The Finals

Since its announcement last year, The Finals has been a major blip, owing primarily to its impressive-looking destruction tech. Embark claims that every building, decoration, and piece of furniture can be destroyed by rocket launchers, and that all of this mayhem is synced across every player’s client. This level of server-side destruction has never been seen in gaming, but Embark claims to have cracked the code.
