How To Permanently Root HTC Sensation 4G

HTC Sensation 4G is currently HTC’s most famous Android device and in the hands of expert Android users, it is easily one of the best phones money can buy. Earlier I covered a guide which explained the procedure to gain S-Off on HTC Sensation 4G and the installation of ClockworkMod. While there have been many temporary rooting methods for HTC Sensation 4G that have gone around in the past, XDA-Developers forum member “ikhzter” has provided a guide on how to gain gaining permanent root on HTC Sensation 4G. This root sticks on reboots, so no need to lose root at reboots. For more details, see rooting instructions given below.

Step 1: Download thesu-2.3.6.3-ef-signed.zip” file and copy it to the root of your SD card.
Step 2: Reboot your device into ClockworkMod recovery. Hold the Volume down key and press the Power button. (When you  enter the bootloader mode, select “Rvecovery” to enter ClockworkMod recovery).
Step 3: Now, make a Nandroid backup and navigate to Backup & Restore -> backup.
Step 4: Once the backup is created, navigate to install zip from sdcard -> choose zip from your SD Card and select the su-2.3.6.3-ef-signed file to flash it.
Step 5: After the file is flashed, reboot the device.
