Destiny 2 Guide – How to reach Soft Cap in Lightfall

Soft Cap Destiny 2

The Destiny 2: Lightfall expansion introduces a slew of new content, some of which requires you to reach a certain Soft Cap to participate. In this guide, we will show you the best way to increase Soft Caft in Destiny 2

Destiny 2 Guide – How to reach Soft Cap in Lightfall

For the uninitiated, “Soft Cap” refers to the point at which Rare (blue) tier gear stops dropping at a higher Power. The best way to reach the Soft Cap is to complete the Lightfall campaign on Legendary difficulty.

After completing the campaign, you will receive a full set of gear at 1770 Light, 20 Power above the Soft Cap. This will save you a great deal of grinding time and is the most effective and time-efficient way to reach 1750 Power.

You can also grind activities like Strikes and Lost Sectors, which will almost always reward loot that is currently higher than your currently equipped gear. Just remember to keep loot with a higher Power score than what you currently have equipped, even if you don’t use it. When determining the Power of drops, Destiny 2 will always look at what your highest Power items are overall.

We recommend infusing anything as you climb through the Soft Cap as this will make your experience much easier. This is especially true for the Legendary campaign, which will be much more difficult than the “Classic” difficulty. If you’re playing the Lightfall campaign on normal difficulty, you should be fine just wearing whatever the game gives you until you reach the Soft Cap.

Hopefully, you now have all the information you need to reach the Soft Cap in the Lightfall expansion of Destiny 2.
