Transform Windows 7 To Mac OS X Lion With Lion UX Pack

I have previously reviewed many stylish Windows 7 skin packs, including the iOS Skin Pack, Mango Skin Pack, Zune Skin Pack, Android Skin Pack, Gnome Skin Pack, Windows 8 Skin Pack and Xbox 360 Transformer Pack. All of these Windows 7 transformation packs come with an easy installation method, without any complex (manual) theme patching requirements. Recently, I came across the Lion UX Pack that is even simpler to install and gives your Windows 7 desktop, the Mac OS X Lion 10.07 look. This transformation pack is even quicker and easier to apply, than the previously reviewed Lion Skin Pack by Hamed.

Note: Please bear in mind that such skin packs can be difficult to uninstall and may not be removed by using system restore. Before installing the Lion UX Pack, make sure that you have created a backup of your computer. Also check if UAC (User Account Control) is disabled. For complete un-installation instructions of this (or a similar) Skin Pack, see my post: How To Uninstall A Windows Transformation Pack Skin.

To install the Lion UX Pack, launch the setup file and select the required features from the respective drop down menus. The available options include selection of system font, dock configuration (to display/disable or auto-hide the dock), as well as other Mac OS X features that you wish to acquire for your Windows 7 desktop, (such as changing the start orb, acquiring the left side OS X caption button style, Mac expose feature and spaces).

After selecting required features, click Install to transform give your desktop the Mac look.

This will instantly install the Lion UX Pack, even without the requirement of a system reboot. It must be noted that this skin pack is ad-supported, as it attempts to change the homepage of your installed browser.

The below images display some of the UI elements of the Lion UX Pack that will be applied after its installation. This transformation pack comes with a number of attractive wallpapers that can be switched from the Windows 7 default wallpaper manager via “Personalize” (after right-clicking on the desktop).

It is worth mentioning here that after installation of the Lion UX Pack, I encountered a few internet connectivity problems. Therefore, it is advised to thoroughly read and follow the instructions mentioned in the disclaimer given above, before installing this skin pack. Lion UX Pack  works only on Windows 7, including both 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit operating systems.
