Zune Skin Pack is a Windows 7 transformation pack which gives your Windows 7 desktop the stylish Zune look. This elegant skin pack has been developed by the same developer who previously brought us the Android Skin Pack, iOS Skin Pack, Mango Skin Pack, Gnome Skin Pack and Windows 8 Skin Pack. The Zune Skin Pack does not require any complex theme patching and can be installed via a simple setup wizard after executing the EXE file.
Note: Please bear in mind that such transformation packs can be difficult to uninstall and may not be undone by using system restore. Before installing the Gnome Skin Pack, make sure that you have a backup for your computer. Also make sure that UAC (User Account Control) is disabled. For complete uninstallation instructions of such Skin Packs, see my post: How To Uninstall A Windows Transformation Pack Skin.
Step 1: Launch the setup file and to click Next to continue.
Step 2: Accept the terms and conditions. You can also extract the developers contact information from this section to provide him with feedback and to report issues (if any).
Step 3: Select quick installation or click custom to remove some options. For example, you can avoid setting the Skin Pack page as your default home page (the start page for your browser) and skip installation of a toolbar by using the custom install option. Click Next to continue.
Step 4: Now, select installation features, such as the UXTheme Patch, files and other extra items. You may optionally uncheck some of these features before proceeding further. Click Install to start the installation of the Zune Skin Pack. Once this skin pack is installed, your Windows 7 desktop will get the Zune look. See below screenshots for a demonstration.
One thing that I really liked about this Skin Pack was that fact that it had a well balanced blend of colors and did not display any over powering color effects. The only exception is likely to be the red shadow color that is tied to the cursor, but that too is too minimal to cause any serious annoyance.
