Problem : CommVault: unable to restore data error 80:68 There is no valid data for the archive file
We are running CommVault Simpana (v 7.0)
While doing a file restore in which I have every tape in the dataset, I get the following error and the job pends at 5%:
Error Code: 80:68
Description: There is no valid data for the archive file in any Storage Policy Copy.
Commvault’s knowledgebase doesn’t list this error. Any ideas on how to restore the data? (It’s spread out over several tapes so I hate the idea of MediaExplorer just to restore a dozen files!)

It sounds like an Auxiliary Copy either hasn’t run properly, or has had an issue.
Unfortunately, I’m not sure if there if the data will be recoverable.
It would probably be a good idea to get in contact with Commvault Support and see if they can find the data, or at the very least find out why it is missing.
