Problem: HP Jet Direct Error: “LAN ERROR – LOSS OF CARRIER”
I have an HP Laserjet 4100DTN which is connected to our network via a jetdirect 620N (j7934a) card. I’ve set up the IP address manually within the printer but when I print a configuration page for the printer under the HP Jetdirect Configuration is states “LAN ERROR – LOSS OF CARRIER” I know that the cable and the port it connects to are good. Any suggestions?

Check the network hardware connections. A bad cable, hub, hub port, LAN drop, etc., usually is the cause of this error.
