Add Custom Shortcuts To Windows 7 System Tray With WinThunder

WinThunder was recently released on deviantArt. It is a useful software which allows creating a system tray Jumplist for adding shortcuts for  programs, folders and files to the system tray for quick access. It also provides a weather display from your selected area in Fahrenheit or Celsius.

The Jump list is customizable and is not restricted by vertical space, so you can add as many shortcuts as you like. Moreover, there are also a number of themes which can be used to change the look of the Jumplist.

Launch the portable application from exe file, click system tray icon and click on Create Shortcut.

Add a shortcut file/path (e.g. click browse and select a desktop icon) and click Finish. Optionally, you can also change the shortcut icon by selecting an .ico file. To revert back to the default icon, click Restore Default option.

You can set the weather of your area, by right clicking on the system tray icon and selecting Application Settings. In the Weather tab, enter your city’s zip code or name and click Search button. You can also choose a time interval for updating the weather information, e.g. 1 Hour, 2 Minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes etc,  followed by a temperature format. To change the themes, select a theme from system tray from right-click menu.

After creating the first shortcut, additional shortcuts can be created by right-clicking on any icon from the system tray (as shown below). the same menu allows editing and deleting shortcuts..
