Microsoft Standalone System Sweeper is a malware removal tool by Microsoft .It is meant to be used in situations where you are unable to start your PC due to a virus or other malware infection, which might have disabled your computers ability to boot. You can save this application to a USB,CD or DVD and boot from it to remove the malware and reclaim your system. It can also be used in case your anti-virus fails to spot a virus. In other words, you can also use it for general scanning and removal of viruses, Trojans, Spyware, Adware, worms and the like. Please make sure that you have a blank CD, DVD, or USB drive with at least 250 MB of space before installing this software.
Download and run the setup file (32 bit or 64 bit according to your operating system type) and select a media device such as a USB or a CD/DVD disc to save the System Sweeper. Alternatively, select the ISO option to save it on your hard drive as an ISO file, which can be later burned to a CD or DVD.
System Sweeper will automatically be downloaded and saved on your selected media device or as an ISO image (according to your selected option).
The next time your PC is infected , your anti-virus fails to locate the malware or you are unable to login due to an infection. Boot the PC from a device containing System Sweeper.
This will allow you to perform a full scan to remove the malware and reclaim your PC.
You can also click on the Tools option to configure scanning parameters including quarantined items management. This way you can avoid deleting important files which may accidentally be considered as malware by System sweeper.
